Jim Henderson, PhD, RTTP, GAICD Jim has a long association with technology commercialisation and recently has been increasingly focused on deep tech start up companies. Appointed as CEO of Sydney based Nano Bubble Technologies in early 2019, Jim is driving NBT’s transition from a R&D company in the industrial gasses space to a revenue generating operation with products on the market. Jim is also providing strategic support to other start ups. As a Director of Bionic Vision Technologies, QD Solar, MEDAD Technologies, and NOMADD Desert Solutions, Jim is supporting each management team to build shareholder value by maintaining focus and pragmatically making strong commercial decisions. Jim was Chief Operating Officer of UNSW Innovations from 2011 to 2017, and its General Manager from 2007 – 2011. During these periods he worked extensively with UNSW’s School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy, a world leader in developing industry relevant Silicon PV technologies and solutions. Separate from PV, Jim led UNSW’s most complex technology commercialisation deals, including structuring and closing a $20m Joint Venture with a publicly listed Chinese partner. He previously held technology licensing positions with the University of California San Francisco and the University of Utah. Jim was a member of the Uniseed Biotechnology Investment Committee from 2007 – 2015. Uniseed is a pre-seed and seed stage venture capital firm supported by CSIRO and the Universities of Queensland, Sydney, Melbourne and UNSW Sydney. Jim holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Utah; is a Registered Technology Transfer Professional; and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
